I made the “Ciao Bella” burger from the @nativefoodscafe cookbook. I cooked the portobello mushrooms in the Airfryer. I omitted the seitan but added the homemade pumpkin seed pesto, Italian tomato salad and grilled onions. It was delicious!
Interesting timing, as this week a (not vegan) colleague complained that a lunch companion recently ordered a portobello 'burger' sandwich, which seemed to gross her out. These moments are ever so challenging for me: knowing when/how to comment, knowing when to bite my tongue. Anyway, it's more than obvious that this, your sandwich, was delicious, and will try to replicate--love mushrooms! And love that there was a pumpkin seed pesto (love pumpkin seeds and use in many/most? recipes that I make).
Omg I’m sure they’ve never tried one. I remember when I first went vegan and being served frozen veggie patties at restaurants and just hoping that one day they’d be creative and give us a juicy portobello burger or eggplant or something!!!
