Lentil curry and brownies.

A few post back I made a base masala gravy and I use the last of it to make this lentil potato and kale curry. It was so good with rice and squeeze of lime.

Caramelized onion pasta.

 This was a recipe by @plantyou and it was so delicious! The onion sauce (sliced onions, sundried tomatoes in oil, Italian seasoning, paprika, whole garlic bulb) cooks for an hour in the oven and all you do is toss it with pasta, coconut milk, lemon and parsley at the end.

Chetna’s masterclass masala chai.

 I just tried out Chetna Makan’s Masala chai masterclass on YouTube and I love it! First time making chai without cinnamon in it. Go make this now!!!

Weeknight Dal.

 I made a verrrrry quick dal tonight loosely based on a recipe from Chetna Makan. It’s made with red split lentils or Masoor dal and cooked with broccoli bits and topped with a tadka made with cumin seeds, sliced garlic, onion, green chili, tomatoes and red chili powder. So good!

Good food haul.

 Went to a nearby market that sells Asian, Indian and middle eastern products. It’s a great store with reasonably priced goods.

A variety of frozen products. I wish I took more photos of the store but I felt uncomfortable doing that lol.

I saw fenugreek leaves being used in a Indian curry so I got some. And my favorite FAB! cookies for .99 cents each!

Earl grey tea from Turkey. Hope it’s good.

       The damage. Not too bad. 

Base gravy masala and Chana masala.

 I made a base gravy masala that you make ahead of time and then either fridge it for a week or six months in freezer. I used some of it to make Chana masala.

Kashmiri Kahwa Tea

 I purchased this tea recently and I am not disappointed. This tea takes you to far away places. I’ve never had authentic Kashmiri Kahwa green tea and I was very happy to try this tea by Vahdam. They make the best teas by the way, and I’ve never been disappointed by anyone that I’ve tried. This particular tea is very light golden in color, but is very refreshing and also slightly spicy. The cardamom is the dominant flavor. It also has cinnamon, saffron and almonds.

Green tea relaxation.

 I made a green tea steeped with cinnamon, clove, cardamom and rose petals today. I added mulberry sugar to the teapot. It’s lovely. I’m sipping it now while relaxing on the weekend before school starts.

Hokey Pokey LA

 Delicious ice cream from New Zealand called Hokey Pokey LA and I tried the non dairy hazelnut flavor with toffee crumbles and chocolate. It was so good. The kid got dairy vanilla with the toffee crumbles on top.

Teatime Blackberry Vanilla tea

 This one is my favorite so far by Cottage Shoppe. It’s like blackberry pie.

 Delicious Chamomile Hazel tea from a cute tea shop online called Cottage Shoppe. Click here to shop. This tea is so yummy. The chamomile is honey like which goes very well with the hazelnut. So good.

Cumin tofu hand pulled noodles!

 I made these hand pulled noodles with chili oil, cumin sauce, and it was delicious! Pulling the noodles by hand was a lot of work and since it was my first time, it was a little hard, but I’m glad they came out good. George Lee makes the best easy to follow recipes.
