Why haven't I thought of this before? I made pizza using pita bread before but never lavash bread which is even more perfect for super thin and crispy pizzas. I made these two nights in a row. I used regular tomato sauce which I doctored up with italian herbs, sugar, salt and pepper. You can get very creative with the toppings. I want to try this with vegan cheese next time.
that looks soooo good.
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious. Naan pizzas are good too. :)
ReplyDeleteThe very best pizza I had was at 'Aux Vivres' in Montreal. There were two kinds--ordinary tomato sauce based one and pesto---and both were equally delicious. They didn't contain cheese (and I love cheese) but they were spectacular. Unfortunately they stopped making them...last time I checked years ago anyway.
Aw, I wish I could have tried those pizzas at Aux Vivres. I was there last year and I don't remember if they were on the menu. I'm going again in a couple months, I'll check!
ReplyDeleteOh, how nice! I studied at Concordia University. The veggie butter at Aux Vivres is also divine. I hear they have the ingredients on containers now. I think the veggie butter primarily contains nutritional yeast, sesame oil and salt. It's one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten. I'm a huge fan of Aux Vivres. I can only dream of their food as I live thousands of miles away now.
ReplyDeleteChu Chai is another great restaurant. The crispy seaweed is awesome!
[ Smiles ] You cannot go wrong with vegan pizza.
