Middle eastern bean soup

 Shawrbat Fasoolya, Bean soup from Syria and Lebanon. Soups from the Middle East hit different. The warm spice, the heavy use of beans and legumes, the zing of lemon makes me so comforted and happy. I added zucchini, cauliflower and some cumin to it. And canned white beans. It’s really really good. Moroccan Meatball wrap and Palestinian lentil soup

 

Palestinian red lentils and squash soup with za’atar croutons. I added roasted cauliflower to my soup. Delicious.


Muhammara - red pepper walnut dip
Moroccan meatballs using beyond meat. Recipe from The Mediterranean Dish.
Pita wrap with the meatballs, Muhammara, hummus, tahini, salad and pickled turnips.

Violife Vegan Feta

 Tried out the @violife_foods vegan feta with my Balkan breakfast this morning. It is very good BUT I don’t think  it resembles feta in taste or texture. To me, it’s very similar to Laughing Cow cheese which I’m not mad about. It’s nice and creamy with good flavor. Ethiopian Wot

 Recipe from Olive Trees and Honey. So good on basmati rice. I added a tiny Thai chili and it came out very spicy!

 Happy Rosh Hashanah to my friends who celebrate. Used my favorite Jewish cookbook today, Olive and Trees and Honey to make these Sephardic Sweet Pumpkin Turnovers. They look delicious. I used phyllo instead of regular dough.🍂🥧
